About The Position

Highbar Physical Therapy is seeking a Physical Therapy Aide, who is a non-licensed caregiver working under the direction of a Physical Therapist and/or Assistant to aid in the provision of patient care. This role is crucial in maintaining the clinic environment and supporting both clinical and administrative staff to ensure a high standard of patient care and operational efficiency. Highbar is a growing outpatient physical therapy practice with locations across New England, focused on combining musculoskeletal health science with individualized care to achieve life-changing patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (required)
  • Standing or walking for extended periods
  • Assisting with patient exercise instruction and demonstration
  • Monitoring patient movement to ensure safety, including fall prevention
  • Light lifting or movement of equipment and supplies up to 50lbs
  • Occasional bending, reaching, or crouching as needed to support patient care or maintain a safe and clean clinical environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or related field strongly preferred
  • Spanish Speaking Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the condition and cleanliness of treatment rooms and gym area meets standards.
  • Assist clinical staff with patient intervention following plan of care as directed by the PT or PTA, which may include exercise instruction, manual therapy techniques, aquatic therapy, modalities, and education on posture, ergonomics, ADL’s and body mechanics.
  • Assist administrative staff as directed by clinic director, including scheduling/rescheduling patients, answering phones, assisting patients with intake, running weekly reports from clinical software, and calling patients to maintain communication.
  • Maintain a clean environment for the safety of patients and efficiency of clinicians, including cleaning tables and private treatment areas, maintaining supply of towels and pillowcases, cleaning exercise equipment, washing/folding laundry, and communicating supply needs to the clinic director.
