About The Position

Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) to join our Pediatrics Rehab team. This role will be PRN/as needed requiring at least 16 hrs/month (including 1 weekend day), 1 holiday and 1 support day. Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital is an award-winning, full-service children's hospital that offers the highest level of dedicated pediatric care in Northern Virginia. Our pediatric rehab team provides therapy services to the 226-bed pediatric hospital which includes a level IV NICU, PICU, Cardiac Unit, Intermediate Care Unit, Medical/Surgical Unit, and Hematology/Oncology/Orthopedic and Trauma Unit. Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
• Virginia Physical Therapist License or Physical Therapist compact privileges required upon start
• BLS from the American Heart Association required upon start.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Physical Therapy or Doctor of Physical Therapy degree
• 1 year of Physical Therapist (PT) pediatrics experience in the hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Selects evaluations and treatment methods appropriate for the patient's diagnosis, age group, and physical/emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols.
• Perform re-evaluations according to department guidelines while adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
• Adheres to department policies regarding the timeframe, form, and content of written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
