The Physical Therapist is responsible for performing initial patient evaluations, plans/implements treatment programs, monitors patient's progress towards treatment goals, directly communicates with referring physicians, and documents and completes daily charge tickets. The Physical Therapist will also provide direction and supervision of Physical Therapy Assistants and other supportive personnel. They must maintain a professional mannerism, a clean and orderly work environment, and attempt to provide for patient comfort and modesty. Communication should be tactful, and supplies should be utilized economically. The therapist is responsible for helping to maintain equipment and notifying the Director of any problems. They must demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and file incident reports for any event in which the individual or facility might be subject to liability. They must also notify the Director of any situation that warrants consideration beyond their duties and responsibilities. The therapist must comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures, adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training as required, and provide excellent customer service according to the SC Way customer service philosophy.
