Organizes and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy programs in the hospital and its outreach services to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; helps the patient reach his/her maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities. Requirements
- Baccalaureate, Master's or Doctorate Degree with satisfactory completion of the physical therapist training program in an accredited school of physical therapy.
- Current South Dakota licensure as a physical therapist.
- Physical stamina requisite to lift, carry and/or otherwise move and manipulate the equipment used in evaluation and treatment.
- Physical stamina requisite to standing, walking, stooping, pulling, pushing and lifting while transporting or transferring patients and performing treatments.
- Visual, auditory and speech acuity requisite to verbal and written communication with patients, families, physicians and other persons involved with the patient's care.
