About The Position

Responsible for evaluating, planning, and administering physical therapy treatments as prescribed by a physician or through direct access when appropriate. Develops individualized plans of care to restore function, prevent disability, and help patients achieve optimal performance. Supervises support staff and contributes to departmental operations, quality improvement, and budget adherence.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Current State PT license and BLS (CPR) required

Nice To Haves

  • Post-op care competency is a must as that may be up to 50% of the caseload at any given time.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and develop treatment plans
  • Administer therapy and monitor patient progress
  • Educate patients and families on care and equipment use
  • Supervise PTAs and support staff
  • Ensure timely, accurate documentation and billing
  • Participate in performance improvement, safety, and compliance programs

  • Regional Medical Center Adult Rehabilitation clinic has a mix of orthopedic and complex medical treatments along with more specialties such as pelvic health and neurology
  • Regional Medical Center Adult Rehabilitation clinic sees oncology and lymphedema management
  • Co-treating amongst the disciplines of PT/OT/ST is common at the Regional Medical Center Adult Rehabilitation location
  • Pediatric Rehab at the Regional Medical Center is a dedicated space to pediatrics
  • Pediatric patients are seen in the pool for PT and OT at Capital City Health Club and at Shodair Children's Hospital
  • Capital City Health Club is PT only and is located in the gym with its own dedicated space and private treatment rooms
  • Patients at Capital City Health Club have access to aquatic treatments in the pool
  • The majority of return to sport, higher level athletes and community members with gym memberships are seen at Capital City Health Club
  • The caseload at Capital City Health Club is 100% orthopedics
