About The Position

Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients in a variety of inpatient and/or outpatient areas as assigned. Performs other clinical, teaching and administrative duties as may be required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a CAPTE accredited program in Physical Therapy.
  • Must maintain a current unrestricted license or temporary permit to practice as a Physical Therapist in CT
  • Knowledge in physical therapy theory, evaluations, and treatment techniques to be applied to a diverse patient population of varying ages.
  • Observation skills, communication skills (both verbal and written), and an ability to work with patients, families and other providers in a synergistic manner are essential.
  • Willing and able to assume increased responsibilities as required.
  • Demonstrates a high level of independence and leadership in assigned clinical area.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills must be at a level to effectively work with a broadly diverse patient population and workforce.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in an academic medical center based practice preferred.
  • Experience working with children and/or adults depending on the assigned setting.
  • Clinical experience with a variety of diagnoses to include post-surgical, developmental, neurological, genetic, oncologic and traumatic conditions

Responsibilities

  • Able to interpret physician referrals to perform basic clinical evaluations.
  • Attends department in-services.
  • Complies with Hospital and Department Policies and Procedures.
  • Participates in regular meetings with supervisor and/or team leader and reports pertinent information on a timely basis.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsive and courteous hospital environment.
