About The Position

Contributes to the Hospital’s mission by performing a comprehensive patient evaluation and establishing a working diagnosis to develop an appropriate treatment plan. This clinical staff professional will have an impact on patient care and patient satisfaction by skillfully treating patients with a variety of orthopedic and medical diagnoses in an empathetic and encouraging manner. This is an inpatient position. Winchester Hospital is a community hospital with 220 beds. Seasoned clinicians and new grads encouraged to apply; mentorship available as needed.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program
Clinical experience in an inpatient setting

Nice To Haves

Master's or Doctor of Physical Therapy
At least three months as an inpatient physical therapist.
Previous inpatient exposure as an aide or on clinical affiliation.

Responsibilities

Performs and documents an initial examination, evaluating the data to identify problems and determine a working treatment plan prior to implementing interventions
Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed treatment plan to improve or restore function, alleviate pain and enhance patient outcomes
Reevaluates the effectiveness of treatment on an ongoing basis adjusting treatments to achieve maximum benefit
Communicates with patients and medical practitioners regarding outcomes and expectations during the course of patient care
Records prognosis, treatment, response and progress in electronic medical record and provides referral source with proper updates and discharge reports
Communicates clearly to physicians, allied health professionals, nursing, and case managers as well as patients and their families
Participates in discharge planning and staff meetings
Evaluate orthopedic patients (11AM-7:30 PM)
Floating floor coverage, get experience in our 10 bed ICU, medical-surgical floors, day surgery center and emergency department.
