About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapist for the Dayani Center in Nashville, Tennessee. This role focuses on treating patients with medically complex conditions, including cancer, muscle tension dysphonia, and chronic pain syndromes like fibromyalgia. The position emphasizes comprehensive evaluation, individualized treatment planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration to manage functional limitations, fatigue, deconditioning, and symptom management. Treatment involves both land-based therapeutic interventions and aquatic therapy in a one-on-one setting, with 50 minutes per visit and dedicated documentation time. Vanderbilt Health is looking for an experienced PT who values clinical variety, collaboration, and creative problem-solving to improve patient quality of life.

Requirements

  • LIC-Physical Therapy License - Tennessee
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • 1 year of clinical experience in treatment implementation.
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience treating patients with cancer, muscle tension dysphonia conditions, and chronic pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia.
  • Experience with aquatic therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes comprehensive information from formal and informal assessment that is pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine a rehabilitation treatment diagnosis.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the rehabilitation continuum.
  • Applies appropriate, evidence-based interventions to ensure effective outcomes and re-evaluates performance to assess patient's progress towards goals.
  • Employs strategies to promote successful return to home, community, and school/vocational environments.
  • Provides physical therapy services to patients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes under occasional guidance.
  • Actively collaborates with the health care/educational team to meet patient care, outcomes and system improvement objectives.
