This role involves interpreting physician referrals and conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients' musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary systems. The Physical Therapist will establish and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and functional goals, utilizing appropriate techniques. They will monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide updates to physicians and other healthcare professionals. The position also includes identifying and addressing factors affecting patient comfort, planning and executing patient discharge, including providing home programs, patient/family education, and ordering necessary equipment. Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders are essential for optimal patient care. The role requires meticulous documentation of patient care, progress, daily statistics, billing, and adherence to insurance guidelines and productivity standards. Additionally, the Physical Therapist is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, performing manual techniques, patient positioning, transfers, and utilizing various therapeutic equipment and modalities. Safety and infection control measures are paramount, and participation in performance improvement activities is expected. The role involves managing an assigned caseload, assisting with coverage needs, and pursuing professional growth through continuing education. Depending on compliance requirements, the Physical Therapist may supervise physical therapy assistants, extenders, and students.
