About The Position

This is a part-time position, working Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The individual is responsible for implementing the FRTH in-house Physical Therapy Program for patients with medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited physical therapy program.
  • California physical therapy license or the ability to be licensed.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in physical therapy treatment to patients.
  • Ability to use variety of computer programs related to charting.
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Human relation skills to deal effectively with patients, clients, staff, Board members, community members, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to work independently and productively.
  • Ability to operate under the guidelines of the Provider Bylaws.
  • Demonstrate awareness, sensitivity, and appreciation of Native American culture, traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs.
  • Knowledge of all confidentiality requirements as outlined in the Corporate Compliance Plan.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and assigned projects in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Ability to make mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9 and ICD-10 and CPT coding.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of patients referred for physical therapy.
  • Development of plans of care in conjunction with referring provider.
  • Coordinates the physical therapy plan of care with staff and other healthcare providers.
  • Timely documentation in the clinical record.
  • Work with FRTH departments to ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Assists with development of programs and policies relating to physical therapy.
  • Assists with improvement of patient education programs.
  • Ensure infection control requirements of equipment used for patient care is done within set guidelines.
  • Submits supply requests to Lobby Receptionist to ensure supplies available for treatment.
  • Initiate and maintain Problem Oriented Medical Records (“S.O.A.P.” format) using dictated patient summaries, provider templates, and/or electronic health records.
  • At the time of hire, each employee will meet with their supervisor to set measurable goals and objectives that are a requirement for the position. These measurables will be monitored by the supervisor and reviewed during the introductory period. They will also be utilized in the annual performance evaluation. The measurables may change from year to year. The supervisor is responsible to notify the employee of any new measurables at the time of the performance review.
  • Attend staff trainings and meetings as required.
  • Produce such reports and/or statements as required by supervisor.
  • Learn and implement electronic health records functions as they continue to evolve.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
