About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our Inpatient Rehabilitation team. The Physical Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality patient evaluations, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and documentation for rehabilitation patients. This role requires effective collaboration with interdisciplinary team members and a strong commitment to exceptional patient care and customer service. The successful candidate will assess patients' functional abilities, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based physical therapy interventions to help patients achieve their highest level of independence, function, and safety during their inpatient rehabilitation stay.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of physical therapy experience required.
  • Current Connecticut Physical Therapist License required.
  • Certified by the National Board of Certification in Physical Therapy required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to providing patient-centered care and achieving positive outcomes.
  • Must be able to relate to and work effectively with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally distressed, and occasionally hostile patients while maintaining professionalism and compassion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy services in accordance with established professional standards, approved methods of practice, and the guidelines of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations, assessments, and treatments for patients experiencing functional limitations due to injury, surgery, acute illness, or chronic disease.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans designed to maximize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on therapeutic techniques, safety measures, and strategies to support patient recovery and functional independence.
  • Foster positive interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships while maintaining professional conduct at all times.
  • Complete documentation, evaluations, treatment notes, and assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and within required timeframes.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and adapt to changing patient care needs.
  • Accurately record daily billable treatment time in accordance with departmental procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, facility in-services, continuing education activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Successfully complete all required core competencies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
