The Physical Therapist will adhere to general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building. This role involves following hospital and departmental policies and procedures, contributing to the overall quality of services, and assuming responsibility for staying informed about changes in policies and procedures. The position requires providing patient care assessment and treatment, ensuring comprehensive and functional evaluations and treatments according to the Standard of Practice. It also involves providing sound professional judgment in interpreting evaluation results and establishing treatment plans with realistic goals, encouraging patients and significant others in goal setting, recognizing and responding to changes in the patient's physiologic state, recommending the next level of care, and ensuring quality patient outcomes. The Physical Therapist will supervise support staff assisting with patient care by providing direction and feedback. Additionally, the role includes maintaining accurate documentation, meeting department financial and productivity standards, participating in process management to optimize quality and efficiency, and promoting professional development and education of other healthcare workers. Effective communication with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers is essential, as is providing appropriate patient care in accordance with age/developmental guidelines.
