A Physical Therapist exists to restore, enhance, and maintain patients’ movement, function, and quality of life through evidence-based rehabilitation, injury prevention, and patient education. At Cooper University Health Care, the role directly supports the organization’s mission by improving clinical outcomes, reducing pain and disability, facilitating safe recovery across the continuum of care, and enabling patients to return to meaningful daily activities, work, and community participation. Performs comprehensive physical therapy evaluations, including medical history review, systems review, tests and measures, clinical reasoning, and determination of functional limitations and rehabilitation potential. Develops, implements, and progresses individualized, evidence-based plans of care using therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, modalities, and functional training to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Provides education to patients and families on diagnosis, prognosis, home exercise programs, injury prevention, safety, and self-management strategies to promote independence and continuity of care. Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care, communicate patient progress, and support safe transitions across the continuum of care. Oversees clinical staff such as Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides to provide efficiency of Care. Completion of Records for PTA treatment in a timely and efficient capacity.
