About The Position

The goal of this position is to provide the highest level of patient care while accessing, interpreting, planning, and implementing prescribed physical therapy treatment plans. This role involves administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to patients suffering from injuries or disease to restore function, prevent disability, and relieve pain. The Physical Therapist will consult with physicians and other departments, document patient information, bill patients, and educate patients and families on care and exercises. This position also serves as an information and education resource, participates in professional development, and performs related work as required. Additionally, the role involves utilizing effective communication skills, promoting The Hughston Clinic's role in the community, providing support to other staff, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to ethical and compliance principles.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy (PT) treatments for patients suffering from injuries or disease and to restore function, prevent disability and relieve pain.
  • Consults with physicians and/or other departments about the impact of PT factors on patient heath status.
  • Documents findings, treatments and other patient information for medical record as necessary.
  • Bills patients according to proper procedures.
  • Educates patient/family on appropriate care and use of various therapies and/or exercises.
  • Serves as an information and education resource for patients, families and other members of the therapy staff.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Recommends solutions to patient care problems.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Utilize effective communication skills (written and verbal) interacting with co-workers, other clinic employees, supervisors, and outside vendors.
  • Promote The Hughston Clinic’s role in the community by greeting and interacting with all patients, families, visitors, vendors, and guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Provides support or relief for other staff as needed.
  • Demonstrates confidentiality in all aspects to include both patient and non-patient issues.
  • Reflect THC values and is sensitive to THC’s ethical and compliance principals in his/her daily activities.
  • Promote resolution of concerns and conflict by routing through correct mechanism or resolving the situation.
  • Able to prioritize daily functions/tasks.
