Requirements

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Valid Texas state licensure as a Physical Therapist (or currently license-eligible).
• Strong diagnostic, assessment, and treatment planning skills tailored to the geriatric/senior population.
• Excellent interpersonal and patient-centered communication skills.
• Ability to safely lift, transfer, and assist patients as needed; ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks inherent to therapy services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of physical conditions, including mobility, strength, balance, and flexibility, to establish effective baselines.
• Provide high-quality therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and customized interventions designed to alleviate pain, improve functionality, and maximize patient independence.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on safe body mechanics, posture, and home exercise routines to aid recovery and prevent future injuries.
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records (EMR) of evaluations, progress notes, and discharge plans in strict compliance with legal, ethical, and state standards.
• Actively collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and facility staff to ensure cohesive, holistic patient care.
