This position is for a Physical Therapist in the Acute Care setting within the ICE | MUSL Physical Therapy Inpatient department. The role involves performing examinations, evaluations, and establishing plans of care including goals and recommendations for discharge. The PT provides daily treatment to promote functional independence and modifies treatment programs. Performs documentation in EHR. Coordinates/communicates with interdisciplinary team. Participates in program improvement, clinical education, and customer service standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2002 OR Master’s degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2016 OR Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy or eligible for licensure.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient examinations using appropriate tests/measures, completes the evaluation, and formulates an individualized plan of care.
• Provides evidence-based patient treatment and education and monitors the patient for physiological status during sessions.
• Responsive to needs/requests outside of direct patient care.
• May include serving as a Clinical Instructor, providing presentations, serving on committees/teams, performing program development/projects, developing educational materials, providing education to co-workers after attending continuing education that was supported by travel or educational leave, etc.
• Consistently meets departmental productivity target.
• Completes accurate and thorough documentation in a timely manner following regulatory policies. Submits accurate and complete charges and daily summary sheets.
• Adheres to UAMS/Department policy for attendance; reports for all scheduled shifts on time and completes shift duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
