The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has a unique combination of education, research, and clinical programs that encourages and supports teamwork and diversity. We champion being a collaborative health care organization, focused on improving patient care and the lives of Arkansans. This position is located at The Orthopaedic & Spine Hospital (TOSH) on the UAMS Campus in Little Rock. The position will be integral in treating post-operative joint and spine patients in both inpatient and PACU settings. We value mentorships, continuing education, and a multidisciplinary approach to care. The inpatient physical therapist provides an individualized evaluation, during which the client, family/caregiver, and physical therapist determine the patient's goals, customize interventions to optimize the person's ability to perform functional activities, and continuously assess progress towards goals to ensure goals are being met and/or to modify the intervention plan based on the patient's needs and skills. Functional outcomes data is completed through collection of best practice data via patient questionnaires, performance measures, and documented treatment interventions.
