About The Position

MACT Health Board's mission is to improve the health status of the American Indian and Alaskan Native population by providing high-quality care through a variety of services. They are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist for a Full Time role working in a clinical setting. As a member of the health care team, the Physical Therapist provides physical therapy assistance and will evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with injuries, disabilities or medical conditions that affect movement and physical function. The role involves assisting the director and organization in developing level of care standards, developing individualized treatment plans, providing therapeutic exercises and interventions, educating patients and families, monitoring patient progress, maintaining clinical documentation, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and participating in quality improvement initiatives and meetings.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program required.
  • Current California Physical Therapist license.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated through the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments within the MACT organization.
  • Supports an ethical standard, which complies with a code of conduct free of conflicts of interest.
  • Current BLS/ALS certificate
  • Must pass Occupational Health Screening.
  • Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system.
  • Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).
  • Awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 6 months experience as a PT preferred.
  • Experience with automated data systems and EHR, NextGen preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with injuries, disabilities or medical conditions that affect movement and physical function.
  • Assists the director and organization in developing level of care standards to be used, as a quality of service measurement that will enable the organization to meet external accrediting requirements (i.e. AAAHC).
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and diagnoses.
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other evidence-based interventions.
  • Educate patients and family members regarding treatment plans, home exercise programs, and injury prevention.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care meetings.
  • Participate in provider meetings and attend organizational events.
  • Other duties as assigned
