Advocate Sherman Hospital - Outpatient Rehabilitation is seeking a Full-time Physical Therapist to join their team. This role involves interpreting physician referrals, conducting comprehensive evaluations, and developing individualized treatment plans based on patient goals. The Physical Therapist will monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities also include discharge planning, patient and family education, and ordering necessary equipment. The role requires meticulous documentation, adherence to department policies and accreditation standards, and completion of daily statistics, billing, and scheduling. The Physical Therapist will also be responsible for maintaining productivity standards, understanding billing and documentation policies, and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the treatment area. This position involves performing various manual techniques, patient positioning, transferring, and transporting duties, which require physical exertion and the use of proper techniques. Skill in using modalities, exercise equipment, and other devices is essential, along with knowledge of their indications and contraindications. Patient safety is paramount, and the Physical Therapist will participate in safety initiatives and adhere to all safety and infection control measures. The role also includes participation in performance improvement activities, managing caseloads, and assisting with coverage as needed. Professional growth is encouraged through continuing education, department in-services, and professional literature. The Physical Therapist may also be involved in orienting new staff, participating in co-worker evaluations, and supervising physical therapy assistants, extenders, and students.
