About The Position

Texas Health is seeking a passionate Physical Therapist (P.T.) for their Acute Care department at Texas Health Ft. Worth. This PRN position involves providing care on an as-needed basis, primarily Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with some weekend and holiday coverage required. The Physical Therapy department supports an 815-bed, Magnet-designated hospital, a Level I trauma center, and a Comprehensive Stroke center, offering specialized programs in areas such as Total Hip and Knee replacements, Spine surgery, and Neurotrauma. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree completion of a Physical Therapist program required.
  • PT - Physical Therapist Texas - Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Problem-solving ability, Ability to teach others and Time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills

  • Acute care experience preferred, but New Grads are welcome!
  • Geriatric Clinical Specialists (ABPTS)
  • Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (ABPTS)
  • Wound Management Clinical Specialist (ABPTS)
  • Certified lymphedema therapists
  • Certified hand therapists

Responsibilities

  • Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
  • Performs treatment procedures/techniques that are within the scope of the professional license.
  • Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
  • Initiates therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition.
  • Attends and/or leads hospital, department, and community meetings / educational in-services.
  • Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration
