Acute Care, Physical Therapist (Grovetown, GA)
About The Position
This is an opportunity to be part of a team that's still being shaped at Wellstar's Level II Trauma Center in Columbia County. The role involves supporting Med-Surg and Trauma patients in a fast-paced, hands-on acute care setting focused on patient recovery and discharge. As part of the Wellstar Health System, therapists will collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams, and have a voice in shaping care delivery, team collaboration, and the evolving environment. The position offers a mixed caseload, exposure to complex cases, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Requirements
- Georgia PT license (or eligibility)
- Degree in Physical Therapy
- BLS certification
- Strong communication and a team-first approach

Responsibilities
- Manage a mixed caseload (typically 8–10 patients/day)
- Treat patients across: post-surgical (ortho, abdominal, cardiac), general medical/deconditioning, neuro (stroke, TBI), and trauma-related conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams
- Adjust care plans in real time
- Support discharge planning and patient/family education
- Gain consistent exposure to complex cases, lines/drains, and higher-acuity patients, with some ICU interaction (<20%)
