About The Position

As our Physical Therapist, you will help patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing so they can function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. Every day you will perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, and provide a variety of direct treatments. You will be expected to consistently meet patient care productivity standards, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and families, and promote a positive customer service environment. To be successful in this role, you must possess strong age-appropriate competency skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.

Requirements

  • CA Basic Life Support - CPR
  • Previous experience as a Physical Therapist

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial evaluations according to department protocol within 48 hours of initiation.
  • Develop and update individualized plans of care with appropriate goals relative to the patient's prior level of function.
  • Provide a variety of direct treatments, implementing effective and adequate treatment following department guidelines.
  • Continuously assess treatment effectiveness and modify goals and treatment as appropriate.
  • Select appropriate treatment interventions and utilize specialized techniques.
  • Address patient safety with follow-up recommendations and recommend/obtain equipment as appropriate.
  • Provide treatment for multiple diagnoses and levels of care appropriate to the age of the patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development over the lifespan.
  • Educate patients and families on their care, using a variety of appropriate teaching methods.
  • Document all interventions, assessments, and changes in goals and treatment plans concisely and accurately.
  • Complete timecards, productivity logs, billing, and other departmental logs in a timely manner.
  • Communicate treatment plans and patient status appropriately with the team and MD.
  • Participate in team conferences.
  • Verify payor guidelines/authorization as needed.
  • Attempt to contact MD with patient concerns or changes in status in a timely manner.
  • Solicit feedback from MD and coworkers to improve teamwork and collaboration.
  • Delegate to and supervise support staff and students in achieving desired outcomes.
  • Precept one internship student per year after meeting preceptor qualifications and if requested.
