About The Position

AZACS is growing and invites applications for a Part-Time Certified Physical Therapist to join their award-winning team. This role is located at the Tucson Campus and serves students from KG to 12th grade. The Physical Therapist will be responsible for conducting screenings, diagnostic assessments, and evaluations, participating in team evaluations, writing goals and objectives for Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs), maintaining required documentation for Medicaid reimbursement and legal compliance, consulting with parents, administrators, teachers, and related staff, and providing Physical Therapy services through various service delivery models.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering services in a school setting, in a classroom integration model preferred
  • Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Minimum of two years PT experience in a school setting preferred
  • Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred
  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Master's Degree or higher
  • Valid license with the AZ Board of Physical Therapy Examiners

Responsibilities

  • Assess and implement physical therapy needs for students.
  • Develop treatment plans, interventions, and/or educational materials for the purpose of meeting individualized student objectives and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Screen students to determine the need for further individualized assessment.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, other personnel, and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services, and/or making recommendations and/or referrals.
  • Facilitate and/or attend meetings (e.g., IEP/MET/Team conferences, parent meetings, in-services, site meetings, etc.) for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding a student’s functional goals.
  • Assess students to identify eligibility and IEP needs.
  • Follow school-wide systems, rules, and positive behavior interventions.
  • Support the delivery of services in a classroom integration model.
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families.
  • Responsible for paperwork compliance with data collections relating to IEP goals.
  • Accountability for growth and proficiency on IEP goals.
  • Participate in annual and ongoing staff training.
  • Complete any appropriate Medicaid billing and documentation.
  • Write PT goals and progress monitoring data for students' IEPs.
