About The Position

As our Physical Therapist, you will help patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing so they can function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. Every day you will perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, and provide a variety of direct treatments. You will be expected to consistently meet patient care productivity standards, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and families, and promote a positive customer service environment. To be successful in this role, you must possess strong age-appropriate competency skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.

  • CA Basic Life Support - CPR through American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial evaluations according to department protocol within 48 hours of initiation.
  • Develop and update individualized plans of care with appropriate goals relative to the patient's prior level of function.
  • Provide a variety of direct treatments, implementing effective and adequate treatment following department guidelines.
  • Continuously assess treatment effectiveness and modify goals and treatment as appropriate.
  • Select appropriate treatment interventions and utilize specialized techniques.
  • Address patient safety and recommend/obtain equipment as appropriate.
  • Provide treatment for multiple diagnoses and levels of care appropriate to the age of the patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development over the lifespan.
  • Educate patients and families on their care using a variety of appropriate teaching methods, ensuring content is comprehensive and safety is addressed.
  • Document all interventions, assessments, and changes in goals and treatment plans concisely and accurately, complying with department policy.
  • Complete timecards, productivity logs, billing, and other departmental logs in a timely manner.
  • Communicate treatment plans and patient status to the team and MDs appropriately, participating in team conferences.
  • Verify payor guidelines/authorization in a timely manner.
  • Attempt to contact MDs with patient concerns or changes in status promptly.
  • Delegate to and supervise support staff and students in achieving desired outcomes, ensuring appropriate delegation within licensure and practice standards.
  • Precept one internship student per year after meeting preceptor qualifications, if requested.
  • Provide necessary and appropriate treatment plans for support staff/students and offer clinical supervision and feedback.
