About The Position

Easterseals is hiring a Physical Therapist for its Story Ave program in Bronx, New York. This is a 10-month position in a school environment, providing physical therapy services to young children as part of a team that includes teachers, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, and counselors. Compensation is $65,000–$90,000, depending on credentials and experience.

Requirements

• Doctorate from a physical therapy school approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, or an associate’s degree as a physical therapy assistant.
• Current license in the State of New York.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of experience working with young children as a physical therapist.

Responsibilities

• Develop IEPs with other team members and families.
• Maintain professional standards and current skills in therapy techniques.
• Provide physical therapy services for children.
• Write session notes, progress notes, and reports addressing each child's strengths, needs, and progress.
• Help maintain equipment and workspace.
• Attend staff meetings, case conferences, and other assigned meetings.
• Assist with staff development and training.
• Assist with program planning and development.
