About The Position

The Physical Therapist works with patients experiencing impairments, limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes. The role includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and interventions aimed at achieving the highest functional outcomes for each patient or client. This full-time outpatient rehabilitation position is based at Orlando Health Ambulatory - Outpatient Rehab in Riverview, Florida. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an approved physical therapy program.
Current Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida; temporary permits are acceptable.
Current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients using information from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings when available, family members, significant others, and other data sources.
Develop treatment plans with specific goals and objectives that integrate with the continuum of care, and provide treatment accordingly.
Demonstrate competency in the use, care, and maintenance of profession-specific equipment; observe safety precautions and explain equipment and its purpose.
Provide treatment and care appropriate to the age and developmental needs of patients on the assigned caseload and at the practice location.
Re-evaluate patients and modify treatment plans and goals when appropriate.
Assess patient-status data and interpret information needed to identify age-specific care requirements.
Provide care in accordance with the unit, area, and department policies and procedures.
Recognize and communicate when a patient has received optimal benefit from physical therapy.
Adhere to the State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
Complete documentation and ensure accurate billing.
Provide patient and family education as indicated.
Maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable standards.
Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
