About The Position

The Physical Therapist plans and provides physical therapy treatment for patients in accordance with professional and West Cancer Center standards of treatment. The role models behavior aligned with the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values and supports patients in improving physical function, mobility, quality of life, and independence throughout cancer care.

Requirements

Graduate from a school of Physical Therapy accredited by CAPTE.
Hold a license as a Physical Therapist in the state where the work is performed.
Understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records.
Communicate verbally with associates, physicians, and other outside professionals.
Work without close supervision and exercise independent judgment.
Organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of workflow.
Assess patient needs, develop and implement treatment plans, and re-evaluate physical therapy needs.
Have good balance and coordination.
Be able to react quickly to emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

Oncology experience.

Responsibilities

Perform initial patient assessments.
Implement patient treatments based on assessments and written plans.
Provide ongoing patient assessment through observation and review of records.
Identify patient-specific physical therapy rehabilitation learning needs and provide appropriate education.
Identify opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency.
May provide guidance and direction to therapy assistants.
