About The Position

This position is for a Physical Therapist in the Inpatient Rehab department at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. The role involves evaluating and treating patients with impairments, limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status. The Physical Therapist will be responsible for examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and interventions to achieve optimal functional outcomes. This role primarily supports inpatient rehabilitation services but will also provide cross-training and support for acute care services, requiring the therapist to float as needed. The position requires maintaining regular attendance, compliance with Orlando Health policies, and accurate documentation and billing.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an approved program in physical therapy.
Current Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida (temporary permit acceptable).
Current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team, family, significant others, and data sources.
Develops treatment plans that integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives, and treats accordingly.
Demonstrates competency in the use, care, and maintenance of profession-specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat patients appropriately for their age.
Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plans and goals when appropriate.
Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from physical therapy.
Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing.
Provides patient/family education as indicated.
