About The Position

We are seeking a qualified Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive rehabilitation services to wounded, ill, and injured service members at Tripler Army Medical Center. The Physical Therapist will perform evaluations, develop treatment plans, administer therapeutic interventions, provide patient education, and coordinate care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. This position requires advanced clinical knowledge, independent decision-making, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from a program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapist in any U.S. state, territory, or jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Physical Therapist within the last three (3) years.
  • Advanced knowledge of physical therapy principles, evidence-based practice, and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Ability to provide guidance, instruction, and oversight to others when required.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of physical therapy services within the scope of granted clinical privileges.
  • Conduct comprehensive neuromusculoskeletal evaluations and assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical objectives.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, traction, and other therapeutic modalities.
  • Educate patients on rehabilitation programs, injury prevention, wellness strategies, and home exercise programs.
  • Instruct patients in the use of assistive devices, including crutches, canes, prosthetics, orthotics, and adaptive equipment.
  • Monitor patient progress and document evaluations, treatments, outcomes, and modifications to treatment plans in electronic medical records.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient management.
  • Provide rehabilitation services for patients with musculoskeletal injuries, spine disorders, neurological conditions, pain syndromes, and associated functional limitations.
  • Utilize objective performance measures and evidence-based practices to assess treatment effectiveness and patient outcomes.
  • Recommend, design, fabricate, or modify adaptive equipment and orthotic devices to improve patient function and independence.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with Army regulations and clinical standards.
  • Support patient education initiatives through presentations, consultations, and instructional programs.
  • Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement activities.
  • Serve as an instructor or subject matter expert for educational programs such as Back Education, Lumbar Stabilization, and Anterior Knee Pain classes, as assigned.
  • Attend interdisciplinary meetings, ward rounds, and other clinical support activities as required.
  • Apply emerging rehabilitation technologies and integrative treatment techniques, including acupuncture and other approved modalities when applicable.
