The Physical Therapist will carry out an individualized program of physical therapy including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals who have traumatic brain injury. This role involves implementing Minds Matter's philosophical principles for effective service delivery, adhering to professional, ethical, and legal standards, and providing direct supervision of Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA). The therapist will assist individuals in identifying needs, developing compensation techniques, assessing and recommending adaptive technology, and providing specialized intervention programs. Additionally, the role includes developing training for staff and families, coordinating treatment plans, integrating life goals into therapy, and working closely with consumers and PTAs to ascertain goals. Services are provided as designated on each individual consumer’s plan of care. The position requires maintaining and submitting documentation on time, educating families about brain injury consequences, and attending trainings to stay current with evidence-based practices. The therapist will also contribute to departmental goals and objectives, manage referrals within specific timeframes, set goals with consumer and PTA input, and provide quarterly summaries to regional rehab directors. Adherence to Minds Matters policy and procedure requirements, including timely documentation, is essential. The role also involves establishing and maintaining professional rapport with consumers, colleagues, and community agencies, promoting public relations for Minds Matter, and potentially serving on task groups. The Physical Therapist is responsible for the care and maintenance of Minds Matter issued devices.
