Physical Therapists evaluate and treat patients to improve strength, mobility, flexibility, endurance, and overall function. Responsibilities include assessing muscle strength, joint mobility, and movement abilities, while developing treatment plans that may include therapeutic exercises, pain management techniques such as heat, cold, electrical stimulation, or aquatic therapy, and education on body mechanics to help prevent injury and restore function. Because this role involves direct patient interaction, Physical Therapists build strong relationships with patients throughout the rehabilitation process. Success in this role requires compassion, sensitivity, and the ability to motivate and support patients as they work toward regaining their health and independence. A caregiver in this position works Mon-Fri| 7:00am—7:00pm| no weekends or holidays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or certificate
  • Graduate of a Physical Therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
  • Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments.
  • Establish, revise and evaluate plans of care.
  • Perform physical therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills appropriate for the patient’s age and condition.
  • Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support caregivers.
