About The Position

As our Physical Therapist, you will help patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing so they can function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. Every day you will perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, and provide a variety of direct treatments. You will be expected to consistently meet patient care productivity standards, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and families, and promote a positive customer service environment. To be successful in this role, you must possess strong age-appropriate competency skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.

Requirements

  • CA, within 6 - months Basic Life Support - CPR
  • Completed an accredited Physical Therapy degree program
  • Be Board eligible and able to obtain CA PT license within 6 months or have already obtained a CA PT License.
  • Previous experience as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist intern.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, and provide a variety of direct treatments.
  • Consistently meet patient care productivity standards.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and families.
  • Promote a positive customer service environment.
  • Complete evaluations according to department protocol within 48 hours once evaluation has been initiated, ensuring all relevant areas are thoroughly completed, and appropriate goals are set relative to the patient's prior level of function, with the treatment plan being relevant to patient's problems identified and patient/family participating in treatment plan and in setting goals.
  • Implement effective and adequate treatment following department guidelines, with ongoing assessment of treatment effectiveness, and modification of goals and treatment as appropriate in relation to working toward goals, selecting appropriate treatment interventions, utilizing specialized techniques, addressing patient safety with follow-up recommended, and recommending/obtaining equipment as appropriate, demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span of the patient.
  • Address patient/family education using a variety of teaching methods appropriate to the level of understanding, ensuring education is timely and comprehensive, documenting patient/family performance, and indicating/documenting the need for type and follow-up.
  • Comply with department policy regarding documentation, completing it in a timely manner, concisely, legibly, with correct grammar using medical terminology and approved abbreviations, reflecting all interventions used in treatment, all ongoing assessment of treatment effectiveness, and changes in goals and treatment plan as appropriate, addressing quality improvement indicators per policy, and reflecting interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration.
  • Complete timecards, productivity logs, billing, and other logs for departmental functions in a timely manner per department policy.
  • Appropriately communicate treatment plan and patient status with team and MD with no more than 1 complaint per year.
  • Participate in team conferences.
  • Address verification of payor guidelines/authorization as needed, in a timely manner.
  • Attempt to contact MD with patient concerns or changes in status in a timely manner.
  • Solicit feedback from MD and coworkers to improve teamwork and collaboration (or uses unsolicited feedback) with no more than 1 valid complaint per year and no more than two complaints of the same nature per year.
