About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Inpatient Physical Therapist to provide exceptional care to patients throughout the hospital. In this acute care setting, our Physical Therapists evaluate and treat patients with a wide range of orthopedic and medical conditions to optimize mobility and function. We work closely and collaboratively with other disciplines to meet patients' diverse needs. Assists patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting to disabilities. Restores patient physical functioning by interpreting physical therapy evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment goals and plans; administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities and in using assistive and supportive devices.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy
  • Physical Therapist [State License]
  • Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License]
  • 1-2 years of work experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Teaching others how to do something.
  • Excellent problem solving, case management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Physical Therapy preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient assessment and establishes a plan of care.
  • Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
  • Discusses evaluation, goals, and treatment with patient and family.
  • Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Participates in and contributes to department and interdisciplinary in-service education programs.
  • Participates in Hospital-wide quality process improvement.
  • Supervises PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations.
  • Completes billing accurately.
