About The Position

Centurion Health is seeking a Full Time Registered Physical Therapist to join their team at Augusta State Medical Prison (ASMP) in Augusta, Georgia. The Physical Therapist will provide comprehensive physical therapy services to patients within a correctional healthcare setting. This role supports a medically complex population and focuses on rehabilitation, mobility improvement, functional independence, pain management, and overall wellness. The Physical Therapist works collaboratively with providers, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans while ensuring safe, effective, and compliant patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Current active Physical Therapist license in the State of Georgia
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Current tuberculosis (TB/PPD) screening in accordance with company policy
  • Completion of required Georgia Department of Corrections training, including PREA requirements
  • Ability to pass a background investigation, drug screening, and obtain security clearance
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all facility security protocols

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical physical therapy experience preferred
  • Experience treating orthopedic, post-surgical, geriatric, prosthetic, and medically complex patients preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a correctional healthcare environment
  • Correctional healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled physical therapy services in coordination with approved provider orders
  • Assess, evaluate, and treat patients with a wide range of physical and functional conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy treatment plans and home exercise programs
  • Provide direct patient care for orthopedic, post-surgical, prosthetic, acute care, geriatric, and medically complex patients
  • Coordinate care with facility providers, nursing staff, and medical leadership as indicated
  • Assess patient mobility, functional limitations, and need for assistive devices or housing accommodations
  • Educate patients on rehabilitation techniques, injury prevention, and therapeutic exercises
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation within the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Adhere to all security procedures, correctional guidelines, and regulatory standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and regulatory readiness activities (ACA, NCCHC, OHS)
