Requirements

• Doctors Degree in Physical Therapy from an Accredited Program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy.
• Must be certified in cardio‑pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for all age groups.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other government regulations.
• Certification as an Emergency Responder or ATC Licensure (Sport Residency Only).

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers physical therapy programs and treatments for age groups defined by clinical competency for area of responsibility.
• Provides the highest quality of age-appropriate care for patients within the scope of practice and established standards for physical therapy.
• Functions effectively as a member of the rehabilitation team.
• Requires patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.
• Completes curriculum requirements for purposes of advancing resident’s knowledge and ability to provide specialty care.
• Prepares for examinations in order to receive certification in specialty area.
