Physical Therapist - School Based
About The Position
Metro Therapy, Inc., a Powerback Pediatrics company, has served the educational and developmental needs of pediatric populations throughout Long Island and New York City’s five boroughs for over 35 years. The Physical Therapist provides therapy services to children in school settings, evaluates and assesses their needs, tracks progress, and delivers services as specified in each child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). The role also involves collaboration with families, caregivers, educators, and other professionals; completing documentation and progress notes; and supporting functional mobility and orientation safety.
Requirements
- Hold a valid and unencumbered Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or provide proof of license and eligibility.
- Have a qualifying degree in Physical Therapy.
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services to children in school settings.
- Perform evaluations and assessments and track child progress.
- Deliver physical therapy services as mandated in the IEP.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and other professionals to support each child’s goals.
- Complete documentation and progress notes.
- Assist with functional mobility and orientation safety directives, guidelines, and exercises.
