About The Position

This position is responsible for the assessment, treatment, and management of patients who have impaired mobility and function. The Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and executes the patient's treatment program; coordinates with the team, patient, and family to develop a plan of care. Responsible for following departmental procedures and maintaining professional standards. Instructs and supervises Physical Therapy Assistants in treatments delegated and follows through with required documentation. Involved in the orientation, training, and oversight of student interns and new employees. The therapist participates in a variety of professional growth activities intended to develop and improve patient care delivery and departmental performance. The therapist is expected to follow Soaring on Hope's mission and vision and demonstrate values when administering departmental services and fulfilling patient and family needs.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or higher in Physical Therapy
  • Valid Oklahoma clinical license
  • Knowledge of current best practices, scientifically validated methodologies and approaches that are beneficial for children with therapy needs
  • Expertise in empirically evaluated assessment and intervention strategies related to program and service delivery for individuals with therapy needs
  • Familiarity with EMR and billing systems for therapy services
  • Willingness to attend Soaring on Hope related events and meet with potential referral sources

Responsibilities

  • Establish treatment plan and provides treatment, considering discharge needs; expected discharge functional status; and appropriate equipment and supplies.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations, re-evaluations, and progress notes
  • Create and implement individual treatment plans
  • Provide appropriate PTA supervision in accordance with Oklahoma Medical Board rules and guidelines, be willing to collaborate, and provide feedback as necessary
  • Follow SOH policies and procedures as well as, maintain best practices, state and federal rules and guidelines, and applicable standards of care
  • Delegate to PTAs and students as deemed appropriate and necessary through written and verbal communication including determining the skill level/competency required to provide interventions to best meet needs of the patient
  • Make appropriate recommendations/referrals to specialists as needed
  • Educate, collaborate with, and conference with patients, families, and other health care providers; making recommendations for referrals to specialists as needed.
  • Attend regular team meetings
  • Create, maintain, and submit accurate records and documents in a timely manner.
  • Provide direct care to patients, including meeting productivity goals.
  • Complete documentation in accordance with departmental policies, best practices, state and federal rules and guidelines, and applicable standards of care.
  • Assist with community presentations and events, as applicable
  • Become active and involved in professional associations, social media, and local organizations
