About The Position

The Physical Therapist performs age-appropriate patient assessments and treatments, develops plans of care, and sets measurable functional goals that address identified problems as well as patient and family goals and preferences. The role obtains and verifies physician orders for therapy and confirms their appropriateness. The Physical Therapist communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel about patient-care issues, individualizes care to patients’ age-specific needs, demonstrates competence in treatment, and maintains professional accountability. This position is in the Physical Therapy Department at Texas Health Rockwall in Rockwall, Texas. It is full-time, 32 hours per week, on days, with a flexible schedule across four or five days and one to two weekends per month. The department describes a collaborative team environment, strong hospital leadership, a growing facility, and a focus on safe, reliable care.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
Completion of a Physical Therapy program.
Texas Physical Therapy License upon hire.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification before providing independent patient care; must be maintained quarterly.
Two years of inpatient/acute care experience is strongly preferred.
