About The Position

Shriners Children’s is seeking a Part Time Physical Therapist to join their Rehab team. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded pediatric physical therapist experienced in treating both orthopedic and developmental populations within a collaborative, specialty care setting. Shriners Children’s is a leading pediatric specialty care provider with over 20 hospitals and clinics globally, dedicated to providing excellent care to children up to age 18, irrespective of their family's financial situation.

Licensed in WA
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

Manage post-operative pediatric patients, including cases such as ACL reconstruction, periacetabular osteotomy (PAO), tibial derotational osteotomy, and other complex lower extremity surgeries.
Practice in an outpatient setting and work with children in a clinical and play-based environment.
Treat a diverse caseload including post-surgical rehab, children with gait abnormalities, toe walking, hip dysplasia, back pain, and motor delays.
Evaluate pediatric patients for wheelchairs, gait trainers, standers, strollers, and other adaptive equipment.
Partner with equipment vendors for selection, justification, and procurement of mobility devices.
Work alongside prosthetists and orthotists, incorporating bracing or prosthetic considerations into treatment plans.
Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, therapists, and other providers to achieve optimal outcomes.
Adapt orthopedic rehabilitation principles to meet the unique needs of growing children and adolescents.
Engage patients and caregivers using developmentally appropriate strategies to support progress and carryover outside the clinic.
Independently manage a varied caseload in a specialty pediatric orthopedic setting.
