About The Position

This is a full-time Physical Therapist position in an outpatient hospital-based clinic specializing in neurologic, vestibular, oncology, lymphedema, geriatric, gait and balance, post operative/spinal pathologies, and complex orthopedic cases. The role involves developing individualized patient care plans, utilizing exercises, stretching, hands-on therapy, and equipment to manage pain, improve mobility, prevent injury, and promote health and wellness. The position also requires flexibility to work in various clinical locations, including satellite clinics.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy is required.
  • Must be a Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Florida is required.
  • Familiarity with government regulations for PT practice in an outpatient setting.
  • Understanding of how regulations pertain to managing patient care, specifically for the OP Therapy Cap and Claims-Based Outcomes Reporting (i.e. G codes).

Nice To Haves

  • Neurologic rehab experience/ NCS certification/ Neurologic residency
  • GCS/ Geriatric Certification
  • Vestibular experience/ and or certification
  • Lymphedema Certification

Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized plans of care for patients, outlining goals and expected outcomes.
  • Use exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease pain, increase mobility, prevent further injury, and facilitate health and wellness.
  • Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs to improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and decrease or prevent deformity.
  • Administer manual exercises, massage, and/or traction to relieve pain, increase strength, and decrease or prevent deformity.
  • Discharge patients when goals or projected outcomes have been attained and provide for appropriate follow-up care or referrals.
  • Evaluate the effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
  • Inform the patient when diagnosis reveals findings outside their scope and refer to an appropriate practitioner.
  • Instruct the patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
  • Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment.
  • Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in the patient's chart or enter information into the computer.
  • Review physician's referral and patient's medical records to help determine diagnosis and physical therapy treatment.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of government regulations for PT practice in an outpatient setting, including the OP Therapy Cap and Claims-Based Outcomes Reporting (i.e. G codes).
