About The Position

As a Physical Therapist and movement expert, you'll have the opportunity to improve patient quality of life through hands-on care, patient education, and prescribed movement. Our inpatient rehabilitation teams are collaborative and patient-focused. You'll work together with Physical Therapy Assistants to treat patients of all ages and abilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • New Mexico Physical Therapy License required or New Mexico Physical Therapy provisional/temporary license accepted
  • Less than one year of experience in physical therapy.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy Preferred.
  • BLS required at time of hire.

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Requires detailed knowledge of physical therapy in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done, this level includes interpretation of data.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting
  • Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served
  • Oversees and insures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well-being of the patient
  • Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.
  • Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.
  • Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.
  • Is a patient advocate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents for various health conditions.
  • Addressing motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, gait, etc.
  • Interviewing children and family members, using physical examination to diagnose movement disorder.
  • Ability to evaluate and treat patient from 18yrs old and older.
  • Float to adult units if needed if pediatric patient census fluctuates.
  • Evaluates and treats pediatric patients from birth to 18yrs old, regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.
  • Settings include inpatient, inpatient emergency department.
