Description Job Summary: The Physical Therapist I serves as a primary clinician, providing comprehensive physical therapy evaluations, treatments, and education to patients with various medical conditions. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, setting measurable patient goals, and ensuring high-quality care in alignment with established standards.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a Physical Therapy Program accredited by CAPTE.
  • Less than one year of clinical experience as a physical therapist.
  • A valid, unencumbered Physical Therapist License approved by Georgia Board of Physical Therapy.
  • All: Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • up to 25 lbs., 0-33% of the workday (infrequently) Lifting 25 lbs. max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations, testing, and treatment for patients with multiple medical conditions.
  • Educates patients and their families in a manner tailored to their needs.
  • Develops and adjusts individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals.
  • Ensures daily practices align with established patient care standards.
  • Recommends appropriate equipment for patient care.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team conferences to enhance patient care.
  • Works cooperatively with other team members to maintain a positive and results-oriented work environment.
  • Collaborates with care teams and community resources for post-discharge planning and follow-up.
  • Responds to requests for professional information or advice, referring complex matters to appropriate personnel.
  • Mentors other staff, as appropriate
  • Plans treatment schedules for optimal staff and equipment use.
  • Maintains productivity while adhering to quality standards.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with infection control and sterile technique protocols.
  • Documents patient care details and records service charges accurately.
  • Manages inventory, equipment maintenance, and work area organization.
  • Attends relevant educational in-services and professional activities to stay current on industry practices.
  • Works with the Leader to develop a professional growth plan.
  • Delegates tasks effectively as appropriate.
  • Adheres to all applicable policies, protocols, and regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
