About The Position

Children’s Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. An independent and not-for-profit system since 1924, Children’s Minnesota is one system serving kids throughout the Upper Midwest at two free-standing hospitals, nine primary care clinics, multiple specialty clinics and seven rehabilitation sites. As The Kids Experts™ in our region, Children’s Minnesota is regularly ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top children’s hospital. The Physical Therapy department evaluates and treats children with a range of diagnoses. For example, gross motor development delay, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Down syndrome, and orthopedic injuries. They work in conjunction with other interdisciplinary clinics like the Down syndrome clinic. They assist and train children and caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment to promote independence.

Requirements

Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree from an accredited physical therapy program
Minnesota state licensure
Temporary Minnesota state licensure accepted if accompanied by proof of passing physical therapy board examination
BLS certification

Responsibilities

Responsible for the evaluation and provision of physical therapy services to children
Accompanying written documentation and verbal communication needed to administer care including provider orders
Provides patient/family/caregivers, staff, and student training
Provide a safe, clean environment
Provides proper care for departmental equipment
Manages time effectively and promotes patient/family, provider, and intradepartmental satisfaction
All of the positions' duties are performed within Children's MN Standards of Behavior
This west metro float position is based in Minneapolis and includes both inpatient and outpatient coverage across multiple sites, including Minneapolis, Roseville, Minnetonka, and Maple Grove.
