About The Position

As a Physical Therapist – Rehab, your ability to design, plan, and implement personalized physical therapy intervention greatly enhances patient function and overall quality of life. This is a Full Time position located at the Ridgeway Medical Campus in Rochester, NY, within the Physical Medicine & Rehab department. The role involves assessing and restoring patient function, alleviating pain, and preventing disabilities by designing, planning, and implementing medically prescribed physical therapy interventions. The position also requires providing superior customer service by modeling the Brand Promise and Core Values.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy or Bachelor’s degree with prior experience as a licensed Physical Therapist required.
  • Current New York State license or a limited permit as a Registered Physical Therapist.
  • If a New York State license or limited permit is not held, must be hired within 90 days of graduation from a New York State or APTA-accredited physical therapist education program and meet Practice Exemption under New York State Physical Therapy License Requirements.
  • If working in Homecare or traveling between locations, an NYS license is required.
  • Patient-focused, with demonstrated care and compassion.
  • Exceptional communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Physical Therapy experience preferred.
  • Developed leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Meet patient goals and needs by providing quality, evidence-based care; assess, develop, and implement an individualized treatment plan; help the patient accomplish the treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.
  • Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instruct patients, families and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommend and provide assistive equipment; recommend outpatient or home health follow-up programs.
  • Develop physical therapy staff by providing information; develop and conduct in-service training programs.
