Requirements

  • AA degree from a school or college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Basic knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Holds current certificate as Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administering physical therapy modalities and rehabilitation treatments as directed by the physical therapist.
  • Assisting with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.
  • Assisting patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
  • Participating in operational aspects of the department.
  • Performing performance improvement activities.
  • Attending team and/or family conferences as needed.
