This is a full-time outpatient Physical Therapist position. The role involves interpreting physician referrals, conducting comprehensive evaluations (musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary), and developing individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient goals. The therapist will monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate updates to physicians and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities also include managing patient discharge, providing home programs, patient/family education, and coordinating community services and equipment needs. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential for optimal patient care. The role requires meticulous documentation following department policies and accreditation standards, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Daily statistics, billing, and scheduling are also part of the duties, along with adherence to insurance guidelines for authorizations and visit limits. Maintaining productivity standards, understanding billing and documentation policies, and ensuring a clean and orderly work environment are expected. The position involves performing manual techniques, patient positioning, transferring, and transporting, which require physical exertion like lifting and pushing/pulling. Proficiency in using modalities, exercise equipment, and other devices, along with knowledge of their indications and contraindications, is necessary. Promoting patient safety through participation in safety initiatives and adherence to infection control measures is crucial. The therapist will engage in performance improvement activities to enhance patient care outcomes and quality. Managing assigned caseload, assisting with coverage needs, and orienting new staff are also key aspects. Professional growth is encouraged through continuing education, in-services, and professional literature. The role may involve supervising physical therapy assistants, extenders, and students, delegating tasks, providing direction, and maintaining responsibility for the plan of care.
