Physical Therapists evaluate patients’ strength, joint mobility, balance, and functional movement to develop individualized treatment plans that restore function and improve quality of life. Interventions may include therapeutic exercise to enhance strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination, as well as modalities such as heat, cold, electrical stimulation, or aquatic therapy to manage pain and support recovery. Education on proper body mechanics and injury prevention is also a key component of care. This role involves close, hands-on interaction with patients, allowing Physical Therapists to build strong, trusting relationships throughout the rehabilitation process. Many patients are managing pain or recovering from injury, making compassion, empathy, and encouragement essential.
