About The Position

This position is for Outpatient Rehab. Evaluates or screens clients after impairment injury or disease. Plans designs and implements individualized physical therapy treatment programs. Interventions may include therapeutic exercise manual therapy functional retraining use of thermal and electric modalities gait training and use of various other training and retraining skills. Re-evaluates clients to determine effectiveness of interventions and contributes to discharge planning. Supervises treatment provided by students technicians or physical therapist assistants and recommends client care interventions to other members of the health care team. Delegates and instructs supportive personnel in services to be provided. Serves as a clinical resource and coordinates the student program. This position also helps cover weekends in Acute Care. Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., but can be flexible. Must help with weekend rotations, usually 2 weekend shifts in an 8-week period. Evaluates patients after impairment, injury, or disease. Creates an individualized treatment plan and selects appropriate interventions based on evidence-based practice and selects appropriate interventions based upon evaluation and assessment of patient. Re-evaluates and provides periodic reassessment of patient progress and contributes to discharge planning. Supervises treatment provided by students and physical therapy assistants. Participates and makes recommendations for client care interventions to the interdisciplinary health care team. Delegates and instructs supportive personnel in services to be provided. Performs all other duties as requested by the manager. Provides timely documentation per department and/or entity policy and as required by insurance provider to meet licensing, certification, regulatory, reimbursement requirements, and physician treatment plan. Uses professional judgment to ensure safety to self, patients, and others at all times. Completes at minimum a department level project. Serves as a clinical resource for department. Participates in quality initiatives. Must be Lymphedema certified. Will work Lymphedema 2 days per week, ortho/neuro 3 days per week.

Requirements

  • 1 year Physical Therapist (KS) - Kansas State Board of Healing Arts
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must be Lymphedema certified
