About The Position

U.S. Ski & Snowboard is seeking a Team Physical Therapist to travel with our Para athlete programs including snowboard, alpine and Nordic. This is a full-time, beneficial position eligible for our full benefits package including medical insurance and retirement. The purpose of U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s Sports Medicine Department is to support the vision of making the United States of America the best in the world in Olympic and Paralympic skiing and snowboarding. We strive to do this by providing effective athlete medical management both in health and in return from injury, safety in event organization and equipment, a level field of play, and through athlete education. In this respect, the primary role of this position is to oversee the management and coordination of athlete care with respect to all medically related issues for named team athletes on their respective team while utilizing outside expertise and rotational support personnel when necessary.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted state PT licensure (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.)
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years working with competitive athletes.
  • First Aid and CPR certified, SCS preferred.
  • Emergency/acute care injury response experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in orthopedic and sports physical therapy; competency in manual therapy techniques.
  • Experience in the rehabilitation of Para athletes.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required(approximately 50%).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively within an integrated multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to athlete-centered care and high ethical standards, including athlete confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular injuries across a multi-sport athlete population.
  • Design and supervise individualized rehabilitation programs, coordinating closely with the high-performance team on return-to-play decisions and clinical protocols.
  • Deliver pre-event and post-event physical therapy services at designated competitions and training camps (approximately 50% travel).
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the athlete's health management system and contribute to injury surveillance reporting.
  • Triage acute injuries in collaboration with physician; escalate appropriately to team physicians per established protocols.
  • Partner with the Athletic Development Coach to integrate physical therapy principles into load management, periodization, and movement of quality programs.
  • Support athlete education on injury prevention, self-management strategies, and recovery optimization.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development, review, and implementation of evidence-based clinical protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in injury data review and contribute clinical insight to organizational health and performance reporting.
  • Maintain continuing education and professional development in alignment with high-performance sport best practices.
  • Administrative responsibilities including assisting with insurance claims surrounding injuries, injury updates, and monitoring all rehabilitation for off-site athletes.
  • Participation in High Performance Department meetings and events as required. Participate in sports medicine special projects pertaining to injury, risk mitigation and performance medicine.
