About The Position

This full-time opportunity for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is located in Traverse City, MI, within a Skilled Nursing & Post-Acute Rehabilitation setting. The role involves working closely with a supervising Physical Therapist to help patients regain mobility and confidence. The position emphasizes clinical skills, collaboration, and improving patients' independence and quality of life.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
  • Current Michigan PTA license (or eligible for licensure)
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Skilled Nursing (SNF), Post-Acute Care, Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care, Home Health, or Outpatient is welcomed but not required
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, and functional mobility interventions
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety techniques
  • Accurately document treatments and patient progress
  • Communicate effectively with PTs, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, nursing staff, and physicians
  • Help patients achieve meaningful functional goals and improve their quality of life
